When was your LO trained at night?

Dd1 is 3.7, and until this week has still been in nappies at night, though dry in the day from 2. DD2, 2.4, been dry day and night since just before she turned 2.
At DH's insistence, this weekend we tried to take DD1 out of night time nappies. The first night was great, she woke once for toilet and that was it.msonce then she has been up multiple times every night, sometimes going to the toilet, other times v distressed as she has wet the bed. Should we just go back to nappies ( she will be upset as dd2 not in them at night now) or try for a few more nights? My gut says go back to nappies tomorrow, and try again in a few months, but DH wants to keep going!
Any thoughts or tips?

Dd1 was about 5.7, dd2 about 3.1. Bizarrely they actually got it within about a week of each other. We had night time pants/nappies in case of emergencies. We also had those waterproof liner sheets under the bed sheet. So if there was an accident it didn't really matter too much, the sheet went in the wash, the liner was washed down and a fresh sheet quickly put on the bed before they really knew what was happening! We only knew they'd wet themselves because it would wake them up.

Oh and please don't upset your little girl just because your dh thinks she 'should' Hmm be dry at night. There is a hormone called ADH -Anti Diuretic Hormone - which stops the bladder from producing urine when the brain is asleep. This hormone doesn't start being produced until children are a few years old. It is not produced from birth. Some children produce it sooner than others. Your dh can insist all he likes. If your dd's body hasn't started to manufacture this hormone yet she wil continue to empty her bladder whilst she is asleep. And there is absolutely nothing he or you or she can do about it. A doctor won't even consider a child bed wetting up until the age of eight to even be a problem, it's so common.

Thanks - I agree. It's also disrupting her sleep and she is a girl who likes ( and needs) a straight 12 or 13 hours sleep so I think tomorrow she will be back in nappies. Now need to persuade her too!

Ds is 6 on Friday and still has a sopping wet pull up every morning. Don't rush your dd.

DD 4.3, DS is 6.9 and still floods the bed every night...

My DS 3.9 has been dry at night for about 3 months but still has the odd accident. My friends DS is still wet every night and he is 5. She was worried but GP said to go back when he is 7 if still wet.
