20MO stopped drinking milk

Hi

I finally broke the bottle habit about 2 weeks ago just bought a new sippy cup hoped for the best and miraculously he drank it Grin

A week later he stopped drinking his milk and eating for 4-5 days due to teething and a touch of inflamed tonsils thankfully hs appetite is back but he will not drink milk. Initially I thought he was regressing so I got his bottle back out in hope he would drink it but regardless of what cup/bottle I try he recoils like we trying to poison him.

Is it a big deal or do I just up his cheese, yoghurt, other dairy intake?

I'd go with just upping the other dairy intake, possibly not so much on the cheese front, but making porridge/cereal extra milky and more yoghurt. Could be if you leave a small cup or jug of milk on the table with meals he may start also taking an interest in it again if not offered, IYSWIM?

ThanksWe tried today with an open cup but he just ended up with it all down himself and then a massive damp tantrum ensued Grin I might just offer it throughout day with breakfast or lunch see if he takes it.

My dd stopped drinking milk around 2 years. She is now 9 and hasn't drunk milk since and she's fine! Try more dairy in another form every day if your lo doesn't change their mind.

Ds stopped drinking at around 2yrs when he changed to cups , hasn't had milk since.
He eats very minimal dairy and he's fine.

My DC2 stopped drinking milk at about 20mo too. He was poorly and teething and just stopped.

He now compensates by eating loads of cereal with milk for breakfast and loads of yoghurt for pudding at lunch and tea.

thanks ladies

Such a surprise as he used to love his milk and he is still teething so thought he would have liked it atm for comfort but no .....he is done with it so will just accept it.
