weak bladder?

After some opinions/advice really. DD is 6.5. She's a lovely little girl, very bright, funny and happy. She's been dry during the day and night since just before she was 3. The issue we're having is that she wets herself fairly regularly when she laughs too much Sad She has never come home wet from school, and I know she laughs there (!). Today, we've reached a low point and have gone through 4 pairs of pants. She's upset by it, sometimes tries to hide it, or make excuses "I was too hot and wanted to change" for example. We've tried reminding her to go, telling her to go as soon as she needs to and not to wait, I've got cross (mainly through frustration), rewarding her for being dry, nothing seems to make a difference. I've suggested going to the doctor, at which she gets really upset, mainly, I think, because she doesn't want other people to know. But I'm thinking now maybe she can't help it, maybe she has a weak bladder? But then how does she manage at school? Don't want to make a big deal of it to her, but we need to sort it really. Any ideas?

Have you checked if she is constipated?

Often, wee accidents occur when children are holding in a poo.
They wiggle when sitting and tend to sit on their foot?

If not, then perhaps check if she a UTI at the GP; it's not good for young girls to have recurrent bladder infections as it can scar the kidneys long term I think.

Also, ensure she is drinking plenty of fluid throughout the day.....she may not be drinking enough at school and then drinking loads at home after school and then can't get to the loo quick enough with such a full bladder?

THanks for replying. Definitely not constipated - very regular and proud of it in that area Smile. I know she drinks more at home than at school, but the wetting can occur at any time if she's laughing enough, so not sure her bladder would necessarily be very full IYSWIM. I could get her to the GP on the pretext of chekcing for a UTI, perhaps. Can't work out if I'm thinking "oh, she'll grow out of it" or if I just don't want to think there could be something up Confused

I would firstly get a urine sample and take it to the GP for testing. Officially as she's under 16, she doesn't have to go with you.

Ok thanks.

Giggle incontinence?

If you google it there will be a description.

How long has it been going on for, if it is a short time it could be a UTI.
