Are a lot of boys into Thomas the Tank Engine

My 2 and a half year old DS loves Thomas. We restrict his watching to two 10 min episodes a day but recently he repeatedly asks to see more. He loves the same episodes and can watch them 100 times.

ARe lots of boys this way with Thomas? His friends are much more varied in their tastes.

And how do we dampen the constant requests to watch DVDS?

DS is 5 and although he isn't so single minded about his Thomas obsession, he is still into it. Yep we had to put the dampners on watching the DVDs constantly.

The brio trainset has been brilliant and he still does play with it, building fantastic tracks (I have him earmarked as a civil engineer Grin)

When he was very small he would also reenact the DVD storylines with the trains, making them talk to each other. This was amazing because he wasn't very vocal compared to other kids (now he won't shut up!).

The brio is expensive new, but we got tonnes of it from ebay.

If you are anywhere near Didcot there is a Thomas weekend coming up in October, and they have them all over the country. For your DS it would be an amazing day out!!

My DS has the same thing bit for postman pat. We have some postman pat books so when he asks for more than I want him to watch I say he can have his pat book and he's usually happy with this.
I also tell him he can't watch any more because pat is busy/ too tired depending on the time of day he's asking and then distract with something else.
