Help needed, my little chap is teething and went out today and brought him some stuff for it. But I think I might have brought the wrong stuff? I brought him nelsons teething granules which has lactose in and brought nelsons teetha gel. Which says don't let them swallow it, but how can you stop them from swallowing a little bit of it?
HmmHmm

Supposedly the anbesol liquid is the best stuff and because its thin like water you need only a tiny bit (dip finger in) then rub on gum. There should be no swallowing. Smile

My little chap has had a bad day. He wouldn't let me put him down at all without crying about it. He's had no sleep today poor little chap.

I've always used calpol and bonjela as both ease the pain and allow my DS to get some rest.

I'm using calpol and dentinox. The calpol definitely helps him. Not convinced on the dentinox.

The teething granules have worked well with DS2.

My ds suffers really badly with teething. I've used calpol (paracetemol and ibuprofen), nelsons granules, dentinox gel and anbesol. He eats the gel (tastes quite nice!) , so calpol and anbesol work best for us.

Sucking on cold watermelon is also a favourite at the moment. Smile

Oh. In answer to your qn, I didn't find teething granules made any difference, though they seem to work for some.
I think with the gel it just means try to smear it on their gum, don't just let them lick it off your finger. - which was a constant problem with ds.

Slightly unrelated however I absolutely recommend the wee silicon gel toothbrushes you get. I used twice a day with the tiniest smear of toothpaste and it worked wonders getting the teeth through...4 in one night on one occasion!

Ambesol here too. Tried everything else. That along with some paracetamol x

Ashton and Parson's teething powder worked really well for ds. I'm a complete sceptic when it comes to all that complimentary medicine stuff but this worked.
