7 month old changed,

I have 2 children, a toddler and a 7 month baby. My 7month was never a good sleeper. She is on solid food now, and eats well. She is teething.

I used to be able to settle her, and put her down, with a dummy or boob. She is breastfed but for the past 4 weeks she has changed. She goes ballistic when I introduce the dummy now, and she only takes my breast after fighting/screaming for a couple of minutes if she is tired. She also refuses a bottle with the same effect. She does take my boob sometimes without fight.

I'm worried there might be something else bothering her, she doesn't show any significant ear pulling, hand in mouth, or anything like that. My older child was never a good sleeper either, sometimes I feel maybe I've done something wrong.

7month sleeps 2 hours total in the day, which is in 2-3 naps. Night-time a goodnight 9.30pm - 7.30am, and wakes up 3-5 times a night.

Any ideas appreciated.

my ds used to fall asleep on the boob, then i went to just holding rocking and shushing for naps and just before 6months i was putting him into his cot to nap and shushing him in there
i hated when he cried and gave in a few times, i didnt do controlled crying but do leave him to settle himself for a bit
he will crawl around and get comfy, sometimes whimper and cry but he sleeps well most of the time

could be that your dc is just trying to make a change to day time sleeping (not needing/wanting the boob) do they have another comforter they could have, ds has a teddy that he likes and i normally cover him with a blanket (as i like covers to sleep, find it snuggly)

I'd get her checked over by the GP, just for your piece of mind. The GP should check her temperature, ears, throat and tummy. Ask them to if they don't do it automatically.

The other thing that might help is calling one of the Bfing Helplines and talking to a BFC. Have you got the numbers?

Thanks for your replies both. Just an update which will hopefully help someone.
Took her to GP and thankfully she was given all clear. She still doesn't take breastmilk and drinks little, she does take boob for comfort. Started control crying very lightly and seeing good improvement. Haven't tried the dummy in a while but pretty sure she wont take that.
