15mo pushing and pulling other children

How do I deal with my toddler pushing other children away and pulling them off toys she wants to play with? We spend a lot of time with another mum and toddler and I'm getting quite embarrassed by my bullish dd pushing hers around!
I take her away and say 'no, be gentle', but I don't think it means anything to her. Will she grow out of this behaviour? I don't want to raise a bully!
Apparently I was a bossy little madam, so this may be my comeuppance...

Hi Gently my 15 month old is doing the same and so are all her friends. I hosted a playdate yesterday with five of the little darlings and they were all at it ;). We (the mums) just said things like "be gentle", moved them away from each other, redirected their attention to other toys. I don't think there's a huge amount more you can do at this age but I'm interested in other people's views. She started in nursery this morning so I'll be interested to hear how they deal with it there too.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one! Her friends are all a couple of months younger than her, so maybe they haven't hit that stage yet!

My DS was terrible at this at around the same age. He also would run up to them wagging his finger saying "no, no ,no, no" before wrestling the toy off them. He is now 19 months and is a lot better. He still does it sometimes but often looks at me first as he knows what he is about to do is wrong. I give him the look and he will (normally) not snatch the toy or push the child. All I ever did was tell him "no, don't push" and it gradually seems to be sinking in.
