Night Time Toilet Training Tips

Hi,

I have been putting off trying this with DS who is 3.8.

Any tips? Any recommendations for absorbent bed sheets? I did see some on JoJo Maman Bebe but wasn't sure if they were any good or not.

His nappy is still wet in the morning but when I speak to DS he is keen to not wear a nappy/pull up at night.

Or do I need to wait until his nappy is dry in the morning?

Many thanks
TOOIK

Night time training is not training, per se, but age. It's a hormone that has to kick in to tell the body to not pee without conscious thought.

So, yes, my first move would be to wait for a dry morning nappy. My son is 4 and still in nappies at night.

Ds2 is 4.5 and I thought we were getting dry nappies so we gave it a go last night. He wasn't ready so we'll wait again.

Dry nappies is really the first step.

We lift DS when we go to bed (basically gently wake and stick on the potty) at around 10/11pm. That keeps him going through until morning (6am).

My dd is will be four soon and we had her dry at night by putting her on the potty at about 11pm and nothing to drink after tea. However with the hot weather she has been demanding a drink for bedtime and I have been going to bed at 9 due to being pregnant. So we have put her back in pull ups. These are soaked in the morning. I am going to wait for the cooler weather and have another go when I can stay up a bit later.

Just make sure they don't drink too just before they go to sleep

He has a small beaker of milk abouot 630, goes for wee about 730 and that's the last I can get out of him before bed

Hi

I agree with the others. It defo comes with age & each child is very different. DD1 was dry at night just after she turned 3. DD2 is 6 & still wears pull ups every night which are soaking in the morning. I hope for DD's sake she has some dry nights soon, she's desperate to wear 'big girl pants' to bed. x
