child refuse time out

hi time out used to work for my now 4 year old but now he refuses and puts weight down making it hard for me to carry him and he kicks and hits me and bites if i let him go he gets right up i have to sit on time out with him struggling im at a loss if i gwt up n keep puttin him back ontime out he just refuses to stay on time out help please !!! his dad says when he at his house he sits on time out fine but i need to get this sorted

There comes a time when you can't use physical force with kids or it just descends into a wrestling match. In the first place I'd make sure you're not over-using time out - here it's a very last resort if someone's getting hurt or breaking things.

Option A: come on X, let's get your time out done then we can go and do YYY.

(Then nothing else of interest happens till it's done.)
Option B: X, you need to do your time out now. 10...9...8...
(Count-downs still work magic for my 4 yr old!)
Option C: X, sit down now or I'm taking such-a-toy away.
(The super-nanny approach.)

Time outs have never worked with my son. So I don't use them.

I use immediate sanctions instead. "Do X or lose Y".

And follow through.
