Depressed about 8 week old

My 8 week old has gone from being occasionally and predictably fussy to being fussy all the time with a lot of screaming through out the day. He isn't really feeding in the day - And just screams and wriggles when I put him to the breast. He seems to suddenly have very bad gas and for the first time ever has been a little sick when burped. He used to feed fine so I can't understand why this has suddenly all changed at 8 weeks. He is hardly sleeping at all in the day now but thankfully ok at night albeit with a lot of squirming and passing of wind. Have tried gripe water but that seemed to make him worse. He is my third child so am finding it so hard as I can't put him down. The other 2 are basically watching TV non stop as I can't play with them very well with a baby I can't put down. He used to like the bjorn but now hates it and hates his swing and pushchair. It's making me so tired and depressed. Been going on 3 days now - any ideas?!

Get him checked for lip or tongue tie, my 5th baby had it and I had no idea, started being fussy at around 7/8 weeks, Undiagnosed until 5 months. During that time he failed to gain weight and was thoroughly miserable, meaning everyone else was too. Hope you get a solution

Reflux?? Not sure. Could be a growth spurt but I'd expect him to be feeding more if that were the case. If it's any consolation at all, both my babies were bloody awful at this age. Didn't do anything but scream. It does pass and it will get better but I know that doesn't help you now. I'd take a trip to the GP to rule out anything medical. x

My little one was like that when he had thrush in his mouth at a few weeks old. If you look in his mouth it looks like milk curds even when he hasn't fed for a while - a white coating or residue. Otherwise perhaps reflux as already mentioned. Poor little man and poor you, hope it gets better soon x

Thanks so much for your answers - have an appointment with HV Monday so will definitely ask about reflex and tongue tie. Forgot how hard it is having a baby!!
