Drawing on the walls

I am being driven to distraction by my DS (5) and his 3 year old sister drawing on the walls.

They have colouring books, plain paper, coloured paper, an easel, chalks. They can draw on the patio outside with the chalks and water.

But this morning I have come downstairs after having a lie in with 15 week old DD2 to find DH snoring on the sofa ( a whole other thread) and my DC sitting under the kitchen table drawing all over the wall.

On further inspection, DD1 has also drawn on all the bits of furniture for her dolls house, DS has coloured in several pieces of wooden train track and buildings, and there was plenty of paper out for colouring anyway.

Sort of taking away the colouring pencils and felt tips and making them clean the wall is there anything else I can do?

I'm off to pick up my new car now, but will be back this evening if anyone has any help.

DD1 did this given half a chance. Every pen in the house was hidden at one point.

By five DD was old enough to know better and I would have gone ballistic and she would have been scrubbing walls with a headache from being shouted at.

Long term withdrawl of orivalages is pointless with my two. DD1 has the short term memory of a gnat and forgets why she's in trouble and DD2 just hates being caught out and focuses all her anger on her horrid parents.

Neither are great at reflecting on what they have done wrong. Best I can Hope for is 'I won't draw on the wall, last time mum was very cross'

We still have the 5ft high, purple felt tip mural on the lounge wall.

We went through a phase of confiscating pens etc, and DD had to ask for them and show us the paper she would be using.

She does still do silly things- she coloured herself in a month or so ago, taking great care to fill her tummy button and toes. But mostly it goes on paper.

For a while we let her bluetack pictures on the wall so she didn't need to draw there!
