Colic! Help. Can GP do anything?

Dd 3 wks old has colic. Shes ff. Ds had it 5yrs ago so we know the basics. We're using infacol, tummy massage, warm baths. Seem to be constantly winding her, early evening isn't nice as the 'witching hours' begin.

She always gets hiccups.

Is it worth taking her to the gp? Have there been any new treatment or advice out in last 5 years that I don't know about?

Don't think so sorry. If say here is best place for support knowledge, so you are at right place! Dd was always quieter with dad than me. Also rocking in car seat did wonders (while she glared angrily at us). It will pass but its shocking til it does isn't it? :(

There are better bottles now - dr browns

could it be reflux rather than colic? If so, there could be medication to help

I just got a prescription for infacol and sent on my way.
I switched to comfort milk and anti colic bottles helped somewhat though.

We're using anti colic bottles especially for the problem times.

I don't know much about reflux. She's not sick just windy and screams a lot!

Yes yes to Dr Browns bottles.
I found colief far better than infacol though it is expensive so might be worth seeing if GP can give you a prescription for some.

Could it be tongue tie? Have you tried swapping to a different brand of formula too?

There are a couple of good articles on colic here and here.

Hope it passes soon Smile
