Norovirus vaccine

Turned up at my GPs today to get the 2 month jab and the nurse says "today you are getting a new vaccine too!" er..what? Come again?
It's a live vaccine against norovirus, only introduce on 1 July for babies born after 1 May so its really really new. I've not looked into it yet so have delayed the vaccine until 12 weeks when my DD can get it but just wondering if anyone else has looked into it all? I just want to know what she is getting rather than blithefully accept everything. Even the nurse couldn't tell me what was in it, she just said it was to stop the spread when I asked her what was in it. Yes, I know what vaccines do.

I expect the usual "why wouldn't you protect your child blah blah blah" but I do want to protect my child, I just want to know what it is before they give it to her and since the nurse couldn't tell me, it doesn't fill me with confidence to just get it done.

Marking place, haven't heard of this. Is it a one-off, not something that would need replacing each year? Confused

The vaccine is not new, it is just now that the UK has decided to start vaccinating as they have decided the cost of sick families is too high and place too big strain on the nhs. It is given routinely in many other countries I believe.

Especially in countries with poor hygiene and lack of proper toilet facilities (think open sewers, if sewers at all) and lack of access to clean water.

When my DS had Rotovirus last year he had diarrhoea constantly for 14 days. We were at the gp most days checking his hydration. I'm not surprised they're vaccinating!
