Moving - affecting sleep

We have just moved in with relatives for a few months between house moves with our 19mo dd. She sleeps well at home. 7.30ish until about 6/6.30am with a (short) nap of between 1hr and 1hr 15mins.

However she does not sleep well here. She knows these relatives very well (sees them lots every week), has a cot there and we have blacked out the windows like at home but she is still unsettled and wakes very early (4.45 - 5.15am) and then only naps for half the time she usually does at home.

It's very frustrating as she liked sleeping in our old house. To add to the mix, I'm 10 weeks pregnant and just so tired all the time. It's also making everyone else here tired too!

It's only been a couple of days though so maybe she'll get more used to it.

Anyone had any similar experience to this or got any advise. Would be much appreciated.

Thanks

We experienced this before our house was ready when our son was 22 months. He did get used to it after a week or so. I made sure he had all his bedding so that it was familiar and his own area with lots of things from his room. I think it's just the change in everything, smells etc that unsettle them. Think they notice more than we think they do! Would she settle better in her pushchair for a nap maybe? Good luck

PS forgot to say, maybe she would benefit from you walking her round the whole house a few times a day, showing her each room so she gets more familiar with it. Worth a try if you're not too tired

It's good to know she might get happier and more settled (hopefully).

I will try the walking around the house with her, although she does know the house very well. We're actually going to set up her own cotbed from our old house up tonight as we're thinking maybe she's used to more space in her cot bed rather than in a cot (clutching at straws probably!)

I guess it could be a combination of new room and the heat.

I just really need my sleep right now so really hope she feels more settled soon, bless her!
