Hi this may be long so please bare with me Smile

My daughter is 3.5 and i have thought for about a year shes not right.

She has delayed speech she has only started speaking in last month thats only because shes had her tonsils out and grommets in, we have hv, inclusion officer and S&L involved i have a meeting at pre-school on tuesday with them all (CAF meeting) i know they are going to say shes fine now shes had her op! But heres where i don't think shes right she knows basic colours, few numbers etc ( yes could be down to delayed speech) but she also has devil in her as my mum would say, she has no sense of danger what so ever i could write a massive list of things shes done that a nearly 4 year old wouldn't!!

What do you think? What should i say at meeting?

Thanks

What do mean she has the devil in her? She's fearless? Many 3 year olds are - mine imconstantly having to remind him of danger. The other day he thought he could fly down the stairs as he was wearing his batman t-shirt Hmm

Hi sorry for being so vague she just has no fear and if you don't put things up high she will have, example i was sorting washing machine accidentally left gate open i go in lounge and shes got box of nails (wall ) from under sink and was sat on sofa with them all over it swirling them with her, after being drummed into her that the roads dangerous she still tries to run, basically if the bleach was in reach i know she would have it! Shes done lots of things but wont list them all! Her favourite is tipping talcum powder everywhere!

Sounds pretty standard and normal to me, hence keeping dangerous stuff out of reach.

ceebeegeebies · 24/06/2013 08:52

None of those things you have put would raise concerns with me - fairly standard for 3 year olds to be honest. They will play with stuff if you leave it lying around. DS1 has only just stopped running across roads without looking and he is nearly 7!

Thanks for advice i think because my eldest never did those things and was more grown up I'm comparing!

I think Tvtonight is spot on, write down everything you can think of that worries you, you know your child best. It might be all pretty standard stuff for a child her age but just talk it through with the professionals involved. Good luck.
