Baby used to go down without much of a fuss, maybe the odd little cry but normally she would send herself off to sleep. Past two nights after usual routine now when i put her down she goes straight into a full blown cry.

I've tried leaving her for 10 minutes and also tried feeding her a few times, she will fall asleep on me then wake up as soon as i put her down.

I thought it could be teething but she isn't in pain when she is feeding (bf) and as soon as i pick her up she stops crying and falls asleep on my shoulder, she is normally in bed sound asleep at this time (21:04) instead she is wide awake but looks so tired!

It's almost like she's just decided she hates her cot?!

Any suggestions, help, advice, much appreciated, i'm sure there is a reason for this but i just don't know what!

Sound like its maybe sepiration anxiety?? My ds (now 14 months) goes through phases like this.

He will happily go to sleep on me, I put him down, he wakes up after a few minutes screaming and so on. He usually goes down awake etc. It usually only lasts a few nights sometimes maybe a weekConfused . I find the only thing that works is shushing him and rubbing his tummy until he calms down and basically staying next to cot until he's in a sound sleep. If i go to leave and he wakes and cries I stay and shush etc. once he gets into a sound sleep he's fine.

Good luck. Remember if will pass Smile

I'm not an expert at all but could it possibly be either an ear infection or reflux (bit late for reflux though maybe?). You could try propping the cot up at the head end as that helps with reflux (my LO had it) and I think maybe for an ear infection too as it might reduce the pressure. Your GP would be able to help with both. Good luck!

Thanks for replies, she finally fell asleep around 10ish! Will see how she gets on tonight and then go GP if worse!
