Sorry for the tmi!
Dd august birthday age 4 so already in reception class but youngest in school does not seem to know or can't be fecking bothered when she needs to poo!
I have just had to collect her and a bag of shit ridden clothes from school an hour early! I'm at the end of my tether! She's adorable and bright and has no problems at school other than she's a poo pants!!!! Anybody got any ideas on how to make this stop? Reward charts have been in force since sept and do not seem to be working!

Thanks iloveweetos! I'll definitely go and have a chat with GP. Odd that it's something to loosen the poo that may make her less likely to have an accident!
We have had multiple accidents today!!!!! Although her brother is complaining of tummy ache and runny poo (gross!) so maybe she is ill after all. Although ds managed to make it to the loo so i would hope that poorly or not i am not being unreasonable to expect her to at least be in the bathroom!

It can be constipation without you being aware of it ie no straining or hard stools at all. The child can be impacted and then pass overflow so they have very little control.

MY DD did this for years and it wasn't until they xrayed that it was found as the paediatricians had decided it couldn't be constipation without the straining or hard stools. Obviously I know now how wrong that advice was and how important it is to check properly for this, just feeling the tummy may not be enough.

If a child is impacted leaving it untreated can cause long term damage taking years to regain bowel control. My DD has still not regained it after 3 years on medication.
