My 9 month old still feeding at night-advice please!

My DS is 9 months. He's never been a brilliant sleeper we have tended to be up 2 times per night with him. We finally cracked the feeding at night issue and were able to drop his 11pm dream feed a few weeks ago. All was well he was not needing a feed just a quick wake up, cuddle and back yo sleep. This lasted a couple of weeks. However, last week he has started waking at random periods in the night screaming and will not settle until he's had a bottle. Is this a growth spurt and will he stop needing a feed again or am I encouraging a habit? Advice/tips needed. Thanks.

They go through a growth spurt at nine months, I think, so could be that? Also could be developmental if he's gearing up to crawl or walk soon?

DD was certainly still having at least one night feed at nine months which she dropped on her own shortly after (maybe ten months). We let her self-wean and she wrapped it up entirely at 15 months.

Please don't worry about bad habits though - babies are very clever at getting what they need and you are just entering a fantastic phase where he'll start doing loads of new and exciting things and needs a lot of energy.

My dts are 8mo nearly 9mo and still feeding/waking around 2-3 times a night 2 of them are dream feeds. I'm just gunna let mine wean themselves as I did with other 2, a lot less hassle for me despite less sleep!

I agree with numbertwo about the bad habits.

Try giving a good solid supper at bedtime. Mine used to have weetabix.

Thank you all. Number he had started crawling/cruising around the furniture do that may be why. It's a relief just to know that it's 'normal' to still have a feed in the night. I think I'll just let him wean himself off it. He has his dinner at about 4.45 and then a bedtime bottle at 7. Thanks again all!
