When did you let your DCs first go on bouncy castles?

There's a local (v little) one that 27mo DD has got her eye on but she's a petite little thing and I think I'd still be a bit nervous in case some bigger kids got on and it got out of control.

Do they even have age restrictions on these things?

PFB ALERT! Hmm

Thanks.

18 months. And again on her 2nd birthday as her party was in a soft play place. But shes sturdy and a bit mad :o

DS' nursery had one at a summer fair when he was 2.5, maybe a little older. Think that was his first go.

I'm ok with bouncy castles but really not comfortable with trampolines TBH....

About 6 months I think. Just on the front bit, not really inside. Let her go inside at about 10 months and she loved it. Sort of just laid there while the other kids (girls and all being aware of her) bounced around.

Hmm, maybe I'm being paranoid. I'm little myself and have memories of getting stuck down the side of one as a kid. Blush

Depends on the kid and their confidence, also their weight a bit Grin. DD went on at 2 I think but you had to watch her carefully as she was very light and not that stable re bouncing etc (only walked at 18 months..). At 3 she was more than capable of fending for herself Grin.

My 27m just went on a full size one at a wedding with older kids this weekend. They weren't too rough though.

15 months. DS (now18mo) loves them: slidey, wobbley, bouncey, giggley fun! He hates the 'under 3s' section if our softplay, so bouncey castles and biggish slides it is! (He's also pfb).

Before two, however I tend to keep a very close eye on who else is on there and if it is at all busy remove the little one. At one local fete thing where there were a group of burley 8+ year olds I persuaded the person manning the bouncy castle to have 5 minutes for under 4/5s, following by 10 minutes for over 5s in rotation - that worked well.

sort of crawled & rolled around them from very young, maybe a year old, proper bouncing perhaps two.
He has always been a very tough sturdy thing though.

I found the older children very good and aware, it was those slightly older that have little control & awareness but much bigger that were more of a worry.
