Shock

What would you do? I've put her in time out but I am thinking this warrants something more.

Shock again.

Does she realise how bad it is to say that?

ClaraOswald · 17/05/2013 15:44

What was the lead up to it?

Time out is fine for a first offense.

usualsuspect · 17/05/2013 15:46

Oh dear, Grin

Better than fuck off though.

SgtTJCalhoun · 17/05/2013 15:46

Yes, she knew when she saw mine and her DB's face, we looked like Shock Shock the two of us.

Unfortunately I think she got it from me as I know I have hissed it under my breath before when driving Blush. Didn't think she heard though.

Grin I suppose so usual.

But what if she says it at school?

My 3 year old has started saying Oh shit. He says in it context though so least that's something.

He also said hi bitch to a friend of mine. My fault as I had said it to her once a week ago

LaurieFairyCake · 17/05/2013 15:49

You've done the right thing

Laughing uproariously privately at your having unwittingly taught her this is also appropriate Grin

Mother: did you get a a late mark in the register given I pushed you through the gate as they were closing it
Child: no because I told Miss X that you said we were only late because (my brother) kept on pissing around
Mother: Blush

Time to crack out the 'jog off' and 'you plonker' and 'crikey' I always think Crikey should make a comeback.

We have an only child and so he's in adult company quite a bit, so sometimes swear words slip out. We have had a very serious discussion about 'adult' words, and 'child' words. He knows the consequences for using 'adult' words, and we follow through with the consequence when these words are occasionally mentioned. We've also given him a few words he's 'allowed' to use, that feel a bit naughty, when he's in our company - it helps him have his own 'swear words' that wouldn't be too bad if the neighbours heard him!

Thanks for replies. I brought her out of time out and had the convo about that being a grown up word but it's not actually very nice even for grown ups to say it. I said did you hear Mummy say it? She said yes Blush. So I said well I will not say that word again so you know that it's not ok for me as well as you. She seemed happy with that.
