5 year old up at 6am every morning and is exhausted

DD gets up at 6 everyday. Week days I think to make sure she sees me before I leave for work, weekends she gets dressed as soon as awake. Both weekdays snd weekend she appears in room as soon as she hears any sign we are awake.
She knows not to wake us but is up so early that she is exhausted. Very very white. She is at school full time now so needs to sleep well.
Now has horrible cold.
Any ideas on how to sort this would be appreciated.

DD2 (6) has always woke at 5.30am doesn't matter what time she goes to bed.

The only think we found worked was putting a cheap CD player (about £10 from Asda) and letting her listen to story CD's in the morning while she was in bed. We found she would wake put her story on a fall back to sleep again.

May i suggest black out blinds. We were having similar trouble with DS and it was helped massively when we stuck a blanket up in his window to keep the room darker in the mornings.

I would definitely get her iron levels checked. And other things mentioned by previous posters such as alkergies.
I was anaemic and once I started on iron the difference in energy was amazing. Took a few weeks to kick in but truly a huge difference.

Sounds like enough sleep. I have an early riser here - since he was two and he is now 6! 6am is just the time he gets up - makes no difference what time he goes to bed. Bedtime is usually between 7 and 8 now.

Ditto the suggestion of getting her checked out by the GP. Is she drinking and weeing lots? Has she lost weight?

Juggling
My DS is 6 years old and has always needed a lot of sleep too - 12/13 hours.
At the moment like your DD has only been getting 11 hours and it is definitely beginning to show, he also goes quite pale and gets run down.
Have been trying desperately to get him to bed earlier, but can be difficult with lighter nights and homework (only in Year 1) etc.
Have started to use blackout lining over the top of his curtains and that is definitely helping.
