Though they look good but wil he grow out of it quickly?

No! That is when we got one for Ds. He used it for about 2 Weeks. Wish we got one earlier

Ds could escape from about 6m but it's a good alternative to propping him up with cushions as he still wobbles over at 7.5m.

As they're inflatable they're easy to store once it does become redundant too.

You can get a Galt one from eBay for a tenner, they're brilliant. Really handy for garden and beach use etc, bit of a pain deflating the blow up ring but washable cover is genius, really handy piece of kit.

No. Not at five months as won't be long til he wriggles over the edge and falls out. Having said that dd loved to clamber in and out of hers all morning every day :)

How do you inflate them? Do u get a pump with it?

Just blow it up with your mouth.

Didn't bother 2nd time round, we just used cushions.

We had one from birth and what I loved about them is that for each different stage DS has gone through it's had a different use.

At 5 months it was useful to help him sit up by himself. Then it was useful to pen him in for 5 mins here or there while I went to the loo.

At 10m DS has just cracked crawling so we were going to put it away, but it's now having a resurgance in popularity as an obstacle course. He happily spends 20 mins clambering in it, over it and lifting it and sneaking back under it!

Best £20 we've spent, go for it :)

i got one for dd, she loved it, we got it out for a family member (6m) when they visited found dd (3yo) and her little friend (3yo) sharing it and sitting in it.

No. Didn't use cushions either. Just let them roll around on rhe floor.

We had one from ELC that converted from a doughnut to a double height semi circle which they could sit against before they could sit if that makes sense. They were £40 so expensive but great for us as it took DTs a long time to master the art of sitting unaided. Think it would be a bit of a waste of money if they learnt to sit quickly though.

We got one for dd at that age as she wasnt sitting unsupported, she used it about 6weeks. Bought mine from a used baby items shop for a fiver so very worth it.

DS used his as a boat and sailed across the kitchen in his at about 6 months

I've got the ELC one that turns into a semi circle and has a few toys on it. If you live in London you can have mine for £5. PM me if you want it.

We got plenty of use out of our Galt one with DC1 - he would sit in it v happily if you had to leave him for a minute or two.

However when we tried to put DC2 in it, it took him about two seconds to realise if he pinged his feet out hard, he could fling himself out of the back of it

Can you get one second hand, or maybe borrow one? It's kind of on the cusp of potentially a waste of money. However it depends on the child. My DS was quite late crawling, so would've got good use out of it yet even at 5mo.

DD is 5 months, uses it all the time, got it in mothercare, blossom farm range, turns from a ring to an upright ushape for when sitting, very handy, really pleased with it. It was about £20, well worth it. Have you checked out an NCT sale? Bet you can get one for next to nothing there...

We got given one at 9months and still got lots of use out of it as a toy (she sat since 4 months so didn't need it for support). She loved sitting in it or leaning over the edge and putting toys in and out.

best thing I ever bought. She was sick of lying down but couldn't sit unsupported. She was happy in the nest so I could have a shower etc or have physio on my frozen shoulder without her screaming in frustration. True she didn't need it long - a few weeks- but she loved and played with it for longer.
