6 month old - effects of wonder week and/or growth spurt?

Hi all,

I have a 6 month old daughter who has become extremely whingy over the past few weeks. She is also waking a lot more at night to feed, and seems to be always tired and cranky.

I'm just wondering if this is a common side-effect of the 6mo growth spurt or wonder week? The constant whining (well I realise she is not whining as such, but making this whingy noise all the time!) is getting very difficult to deal with, and I am always having to move her from one activity to the next, she never seems happy or content to play/eat etc :(

Please tell me this is just a phase!!
Thanks

I think it is a phase and. growth spurt. Is she able to move at all? I remember my DC getting frustrated at that age wanting to move and not being able to concentrate for long.

The sleep will resolve itself, what are daytime naps like?

I found that my DD (10 months) would go through phases like these. She would seem to be frustrated, ready to move on to the next stage, like rolling over, crawling, etc but hadn't quite figured it out yet, so would get annoyed. It only lasted a week or so. Also, she got very cranky the week she cut her first tooth as well. Try not to stress too much, she'll soon be on to the next thing!

Thanks all - it's never ending isn't it!

She is sitting brilliantly, but hasn't learned to roll or crawl yet. No teeth either!

Her naps were horrendous (chronic 45 min napper) but they're getting better - still all over the place though. She is only really learning to extend her lunch time nap now, and if she doesn't, then it's a million times worse!

Oh god my son is exactly the same atm, very whingey and gets bored quickly, his naps are also horrific! If he doesn't get it right in the afternoon the rundown to bed can be a nightmare, fingers crossed its a wonder week, he has just learnt to roll to one side and is teething, hope they cheer up soon!
