Very loud two year old

My 2.1 DS loves being loud. In the supermarket, for example, he'll start shouting his head off and calling out to people, blowing raspberries. It's frustrting. I don't want to reprass him but neither do I want to always have him shouting.

I do try to encourage 'quiet voices' but he's just quite boisterous.

Does anyone else have a rowdy DS and advise on how to handle them?

I had a rowdy DD....I used to say "Shh....I can't hear you when you shout!" which seemed to work...as did whispering to her.

I never let her yell her head off in Supermarkets etc as it's annoying for others.

I used to let her be as loud as she wanted in the park!

Repress away. Try No Loud Shouting while out in buildings, run riot outside, while at home reduce it to Medium Loud Shouting Allowed.

Make sure you're not shouting yourself (to be heard), too.

Mind you, a bit of a shriek is inevitable at that age. But don't ruin other people's lives, some of us suffer from migraine.

I have one of these. He can't do anything quietly - sings, stomps his feet when walking, bangs objects against walls, screeches, mimicks people and noises etc. We were in a restaurant yesterday and he spent the whole time trying desperately to get the attention of the couple next to us by shouting "Hello lady! Hello man!" It was quite embarrassing, but luckily they saw the funny side. We just cannot get him to speak quietly, ever. It's great that he's confident, but there is such a thing as being overly effusive.
