Sigh... I'm sure there is a million and one threads on this subject somewhere, but can't find them.....

How on earth do you convince a nearly 17 month old to keep his hat on?

I put it on, he takes it off. I put it on, he takes it off. I put it on me (balanced) saying "mummy wear hat then, mummy wear hat". He laughs. I put it on him, he takes it off. I'm sure you get the picture.

What did you do?

Absolutely no jokes or messing about.

Wear a hat yourself. Model the behaviour you want to see.

When it gets taken off, put him and the hat inside immediately. Stay outside in your hat. When he has it on his head say "now you have a hat you can play."

Have lots of hats, one in the car, one in the buggy, one in each room with an external door.
