6 Month old not weight bearing

As the title suggests really!
My DM pointed out to me that babies of this age will usually weight bear at this age if supported by arm pits/sides etc.
My LOs knees seem very weak and buckle, she will not stand for even half a second.
Am I being worried over nothing? Or is it maybe a trip to the HV?

If you are worried then get it checked out but just to say that my DS was just 1 when he started weight bearing. At his 1 year check the HV was concerned then a few weeks later he started doing it. He was slow to move all round - 12 months to crawl and 18 months to walk.

Doesn't sound like anything to worry about at only 6 months. They are all different and gross motor skills develop at different times. If you want to try to encourage her, put her in a bumbo regularly to help strengthen her core muscles and stability, and you could consider a jumperoo to help with leg strength. But unless you are happy to get these just for her entertainment purposes, I wouldn't feel the need to purchase anything new to try to speed up her standing.

I think you are worrying unnecessarily. 6 months is very young. DD was rolling over at 6 months and not even sitting up on her own until 9 months.

Way too early!

Dd didn't start doing it until about 10 months ... she is now 9 years old and runs about very happily!

Ds is 8 and a half months and will only situp if you sit behind him and isn't interested in acknowledging the floppy limbs underneath him at all despite jumperoo and everything else! Don't panic!

if its still happening in 10-12 months time maybe worry a little but many children dont walk until they are over 1

A jumperoo or door jumper could help with her leg strength x

I already have a jumparoo, So am glad it may be doing her some good!
