... are/were they breast or bottle-fed at the time?

Dh has a theory that breastfeeding delays teeth so I'm wondering if he is correct.

So:

dd1 - first tooth at 7 months, bottlefed from 6 months

dd2 - first tooth at 6 months, bottlefed from 2 months

ds - 9 months, no teeth yet, breastfed

Ds was breastfed and was nearly a year when he got his first tooth. Bizarrely we were at the dentist when we discovered it, or rather the dentist discovered it

We were just telling her "no, he has no teeth yet," when she said "oh yes he has" :)

Ds breastfed - first tooth at 22 weeks!

was 6 months on Friday of last week, said Dada (not mama ) for the first time on Saturday and woke up with 2 teeth on Monday! Busy week for the little guy!

DS first tooth at 8 months, bottlefed from 6 weeks.
DD first tooth at 9 months, breastfed until just under 11 months -

I was wondering this as well! But apparently it is genetic. FWIW, DS bf, first tooth at 8 months. My friend's DD (also bf) was also at 8 months.

DD got her first tooth at 13 months. She was bottle fed from 6 weeks, mixed fed from about 2/3 weeks.

Ds1 4 months , breastfed
ds2 7 weeks! breastfed
dd 5 months, still gummy chops

DS1 got his first tooth at 24 weeks and 5 days - still exc bfed and no spoons

DS2...no teeth yet but only 14+5 so time yet!

Dd1 was 11 months and bottlefed by then. Dd2 is only 11 weeks so no teeth yet.

One of my antenatal friends from dd1's group exclsively bf and her ds started getting teeth at 3 months.

I think it has to do more with genetics than how they feed.

MIL thinks that solids bring on teeth. Generally her theories are a load of rubbish so I'd say that one is as well!

(or was DS's 1st tooth at 5 months, memory is a bit hazy with a 2nd child I find!)

Friend whose DS was born the same day, still breastfed, has five teeth!

ds1 - first tooth 7 months breastfed
ds2 - first tooth 12 months breastfed
dd - first tooth 12 weeks breastfed

My dad was born with a tooth, that confuses things eh?
