Crying after bath - any suggestions?

My DD (13 months) loves her bath in the evening and would happily stay in there and fall asleep, given the chance. Every night she wails when I take her out of the bath. Other than leaving her in the bath to sleep, does anyone have any clever ideas that might make her stop crying??

Warm her towel, make sure the room is really warm.

I bath DS in the daytime not the evening, otherwise we would have this problem too! It's a great way to spend a rainy afternoon

She is just realising how tires she is when she comes out so just out her to bed asap

DD used to do this. We tried everything. Eventually she grew out of it and we never figured out what the problem had been.

Dd does this when she's tired! The bath distracts her from being tired then she gets out and remembers.

Have you tried taking the plug out of the bath and not getting her out until the water has drained away? If you then pick her up with a nice warm towel she'll associate being picked up with a pleasant sensation.

I would definitely make sure the room is warm enough when the bathtime is over. And agree with distractions - so she's out before she knows it, because she's interested in seeing something else.

Same my dd used to do this every night . Then she just stopped no idea why i think Iggly has it spot on :)

Thanks everyone. I think the room is warm enough and the towel comes off the heated towel rail, so I really don't think it's cold that's the issue. I think Iggly and Bigbouncing have a point. I might try to bring the bath's forward a little bit. We don't do baths in the big bath yet - she's still in her baby bath, so can't try the pulling plug - but might be worth switching to the big bath if an earlier bath doesn't work.

Sometimes I bath my 15 mo DCs straight after tea and then they come downstairs in their PJs for a bit before bedtime. Tend to find I get a lot less crying then as they are not tired.
