Nanny/nursery what to do?????

I would appreciate some input please..

I have a 2.5 year old DD and a 7 month old DS. I have returned to work part time and have a nanny who looks after both of the children. I am aware that DD is getting to the point where she should be starting nursery and think she would love it. However, the costs are simply insane even for only two mornings a week.

I know that she probably needs to be in a more social setting with other kids but as we stand for now I would have to quit my job and look after the baby for her to be able to do that. Does anyone go past 3 years without sending them to nursery? Will this harm her way to interract when she goes to school? I'm feeling pressure from other parents who CONSTANTLY ask whether she is in nursery yet and that it is the best for her...

So, I'm lost generally and not sure what to think. She adores her nanny and goes to kids clubs but I'm still stressing about it.

Please let me know your thoguhts!

Wait until she gets her free hours. That's what I did after trying two mornings when he was about 2.5 and he didn't settle properly. He settled really well at 3 though.

Our nanny takes them on playdates so plenty of socialising.

Are you in the UK? The usual thing for a SAHM to do would be hold off nursery until the child qualifies for a place at a state preschool (around 3 yrs old). This would be up to 5 sessions a week with a session being 2.5 hrs, usually people send 5 mornings or 5 afternoons. This would be free.

As your dd is 2.5 I'd hold off looking at private nurseries and just wait and send her to preschool.
