dummy vs thumb in 2YO

DD3 was sent to humble me and is difficult about everything. She is a big fan of sucking and would have a dummy 24/7 if I let her. For about 6 months however we have been down to only in bed at bedtime. But, lo and behold, out of the blue DD3 is now sucking her thumb.

So which should she have? A dummy or her thumb?

It's a right pain when they find their thumb isn't it?

Its a matter of choice, which you'd prefer her to have. Personally, i am a massive dummy fan, would never have survived without them. Its amazing what a little piece of plastic and silicone can do.
A dummy can also be taken away when she gets older, a thumb can't (unless you chop them off! Blush ) so i would stick with dummy, until she's a bit older. Then again, she may take to sucking her thumb once dummy is removed, (especially as she is a 'sucker') in which case it may be wise to get her out of the habit now (thumbs do more damage than dummies-as they put more pressure on teeth).
If you are happy for her to have a dummy, then continue to use it. She's only little and obviously gets great comfort from it.
