Should wrists and other joints 'pop' in a 2 year old?

I was told around 18 months by a physiotherapist at a drop in that DS was hypermobile by quickly testing his hands.

He was a latish walker (18 months) but he's really active now etc.

Although we are very careful with how we hold his hands etc, I notice that his wrists 'pop/crack' (not sure of the terminology). Same sometimes with ankles and shoulder blades.

He doesn't seem in any pain although he sometimes says 'ow' with hands; he never cries and it hasn't stopped him drawing or doing anything.

But should I worry about the noise? Is it indicative of a bigger problem? Should I be doing anything about it?

It wouldn't hurt to get him checked over. He sounds a bit 'dry' in his joints for a little-un. I may have given my kids fish oils to aid the stffness but I reckon it's best to get him checked over just to put your mind at rest. Smile

He might be double jointed/hyper mobile. Most of my joints 'pop' and 'crack' and they have done ever since I was little. It doesn't hurt, if anything, it feels much more comfortable once they have popped! Good idea to get him checked over though, but im sure its nothing to worry about.

Yes, you're right.

Thanks
