Advice needed on dropping a nap

My 15 month old is in the transition period of 2 to 1 naps. She used to wake between 6 and 7am then nap 9-10am then again 1.30 to 3pm then bed at 7pm. At nursery they have cut her morning sleep out as she has moved into a bigger room where they don't nap in the morning so, for consistency purposes im trying to do the same but really struggling. She just about makes it to midday but is then awake by half 1 / 2ish and then really struggles to get to bedtime which is having to be brought forward more and more, resulting in her waking earlier etc etc! Is it all about perseverance? Do they adapt to a new routine over time if it is stuck to? She has always been a routine baby and each time I've tweaked it its worked but this change seems to be a lot harder. I'm worried I'm being cruel in trying to get her to drop the morning nap when perhaps she still needs it?
Anyone have any nap dropping experience?

Nursery can be so tiring for them, it may be that for a while she needs to continue having her 2 naps at home. We did this with ds, some days he'd have 1 nap, then if he was more tired he'd have 2. Took about 3 months for him to cope with 1 nap every single day. If that isnt an option, i would suggest doing a slightly earlier nap eg 11.30-12 (ish) & she should manage to reach naptime without getting too tired & still take a decent length nap. Hth.x

My DS dropped his morning nap at 13 months by himself when he was ready for it. I think if you wait she will do it by herself pretty soon. You don't want an overtired toddler or she won't sleep so well at night.
