DD almost 4- keeps wetting herself!!

Hiya,

Am a bit concerned about my DD, she will be 4 at the end of June. She has been toilet trained since last August and I have never had any problems with her. She never even wet the bed.

The problems started a couple of months ago when she had a water infection. She was on antibiotics for a couple of weeks. During that time she did have episodes where she wet herself.

For the last few weeks she has been reguarly wetting herself. I keep sitting her down and explaining the importance of not holding her wee in. Thing is I am not even sure if she knows that she is weeing untill it runs down her leg.

It does seem to be upsetting her. She is usually a very good girl and doesn't like to think she is being naughty. (I dont shout or scold her, just try and talk to her to find out whats going on.)

Has anyone else had experience with this? Do you think it could be something to do with the infection, or is she too busy to go to the toilet?

Am really not sure what to do! Please help

I am also going through the same thing with my daughter who will be 4 at the beginning of july. Again, she has never wet the bed etc and do not understand why she has started doing this. I have explained that she must remember to go to the toilet but she doesn't seem to be bothered by it. I'm hoping its just a phase.

Not much help i know but at least you are not alone.

If anyone has been through this please help!!

not sure if this will be a help, my dd went through a similar thing, but i think it was because she was so occupied with playing etc she "forgot" she needed the loo, all I can remember doing is constantly saying, do you need the loo, then she suddenly stopped doing it

My dd1's nursery teacher always used to reckon that being ill used to affect the children's ability to judge when they needed to go. He (yes he!) said they always had loads more accidents at school when there was a bug going around.
