14 week old baby - big baby and constantly moves about!

Hi,
my baby boy was weighed last week and was 15lbs. People are constantly making comments about how big he is and I was asked for a girl last week if, "I had lots of fat people in my family"!!!! Actually, myself and husband are slim and tall and so is the rest of the family. Surely it's healthy for a baby to be on the bigger side. He loves his milk and if I try and cut it down he screams. He is also very physically, he constantly moves his arms and legs even when drinking (he's FF). After milk he is even more hyper. Does it mean he's going to be a hyper toddler or will he grow out of it?

Don't think it necessarily means he is going to be an overactive toddler, but it depends on your expectations. If you are expecting him to sit and colour I'd take him back to the hospital and ask them to swap him for a girl Grin

Ff babies are usually chubbier than bf babies. Could people be comparing him to bf babies?

What are his centiles like? Is he in proportion for weight and height? If he's on the 100th for weight and the 20th for height, you may want to talk to your HV about his weight Smile

Oh and I think door bouncers can be used from 4 months. Perhaps he could burn off some excess energy that way?

This sounds like my DS. I'be just looked in his red book, and at 13 weeks he was 16lbs. He fed constantly (or so it felt, as I nd and felt like I never put him down).

He was also active all the time, arms and legs all over the place. I remember that I gmhad to stop using his bouncy chair at 5 months after he bounced it down the length of the kitchen.

He's 3.9 now, 50th centile for height and weight. He's still always on the go, but will sit and entertain himself when the mood takes him. He is quite high maintenance, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Most of the time.

Comparing the bf and ff charts (for girls anyway) there is little difference at14 weeks. The difference is later, peaks at 1 and narrows and is for average children and below. Interestingly all the way the top of the new 'bf' chart is higher not lower. I was reassuring a friend of this recently whose bf dd has always been off the top of the ' ff' chart. Chill OP he' s growing and thriving as he should.

Sorry brett, hadn't realised there wasn't much difference at this age.
