Should I keep returning to her and cuddling her or leave to settle?

I wouldn't leave such a tiny baby to cry. Little babies only cry because they need something, and if that's love and cuddles from their mother, that's not a small thing. If you ignore her, you're teaching her that her needs are unimportant. She is too little to self settle.
BUT I was very much an attachment parent when my DS was a baby (although I didn't know that was the term) and there will be lots of people on here with different views. What do you feel would work best for you and your DD?

I agree with Bluestocking. She needs the reassurance, not to be left alone.

She's nine weeks old - at this stage nearly all babies are cluster feeding in the evenings and need to be with you - not left. It'll be some time before she has a 'bedtime'.

At 9 Weeks old there isn't a "bedtime"! Carry on feeding (might be cluster feeding, common in the evening), cuddling, asleep when baby sleeps!

I think if you want there to be a bedtime that's fine! I had a bedtime for my ds at 6 weeks as it was my way of coping. I would bath/read book/feed/cuddle then down into the cot.I would go to him if he cried and wind/cuddle/feed until he went to sleep. I dont really like to admit it but started using a dummy too which settles his.
He was being terribly sick as would fall asleep while at the breast at night.

She might very likely be hungry.
