My son has bit me a few times now, just randomly he's not been over excited or angry, this morning he was calm leaning against my leg whilst I was sat on the sofa and all of a sudden sunk his teeth in my arm through a cardigan and long sleeve top I had deep teeth marks! How have you dealt with biting?

Is he teething maybe? If he wasn't excited or angry maybe he just wants to chew something due to teeth? My DS (15 months) chews on anything and everything when he is teething

my dd is 15months and has recently started pinching, biting and hitting to test for a reaction.. she even says 'ow' after she has done it. i just say NO and move her away for a moment, then use distraction to change the subject otherwise she would do it repeatidly... she has even started saying mak, mak, mak when she is hitting which i am not sure where she has picked this up (maybe her older cousins or someone joking around) but i am sure someone will think we have been smacking her...

DD is younger, but we've been doing the put down and walk away method I read about on here a little while ago. It's basically what it says on the tin Grin We go to the other side of the room, or basically just ignore her for a few seconds. DD doesn't like it at all. I don't think she has quite figured out cause and effect yet, but it is certainly more effective than 'no' which she sometimes sees as a game.
