Normal Behaviour.....????

HI,
my DD 2.1 just loves emptying things and then filling them back up again...she has a big tub of blocks and loves to them empty them, sort them out and then put them back in tub, and then empty again...she also loves arranging the magnetic letters on the fridge into lines (tallest first etc) and then moving back to how they were, and will come invite you to "join in the fun" and will clap hands and giggle when she's done it.

Also, she likes things in their place, in that if cushions are the sofa are moved around, she will say oh no mummy and put them back to how they should be and again invite you to clap hands for a job well done! i think this may be something she has picked up from me as although i am not anal, i do like things in their place Blush

she doesn't do it all day, but it is pretty regular thing and i just wondered if this was considered "normal" toddler behaviour or something i keep a little eye on??
xx

in general very normal, she might just be a very neat person or just copying you - how much does she charge/hour, I could do with a tidying toddler! Grin

toddlers love repetition and can be getting endless delight in doing exactly what she does, so that's very normal too.

if she gets upset at the sight of mess or things in the wrong place and is really insistent to the point it is disruptive/interferes with everyday life (key word), I'd think there might be more..

but no, I wouldn't worry for now- what a sweetie Smile

I think most toddlers like emptying and putting things back, my son does the same. I wouldn't say any of the things you mentioned are a problem, she sounds very clever to me.

@amazingmum....
no she doesn't get upset or anything if her little "game" doesn't go according to plan, we just get a very dramatic "ohhh nooo" and it starts again with her clapping when she does it right....
your welcome to borrow her at a very cheap rate lol Grin
