Would you help a 9 month old, non crawling baby, walk by holding their hands?

One of my 9 month old twins just wants to be up on his feet walking by holding hands. To keep him happy, I think I've been letting him do this way too much. He can roll proficiently but isn't crawling. I'm very, very keen for him not to go straight to walking.

His brother can barely roll, gets stuck on his tummy a lot, but I'm actually less concerned about him as at least he's not wanting to walk holding hands!

My DD was like the walking keen twin. I indulged her too, and she skipped crawling altogether. Falls a lot, is not very coordinated.

Did anyone else do this and get away with it? By that I mean the baby did crawl first?? I will try and really cut down how much he walks, but I'm stressing... This is even worse because I really, really should know better!!!!

My 8.5 month old loves walking with us holding his hands, and has been doing so for about 2 months I think. He can roll, sit up, and does a 'commando' crawl (uses his elbows rather than his hands) to get about. He has also been pushing himself up to standing (holding onto something) for about 2 months too.

To be honest, I don't see the harm in it, as long as you're not doing it all day, stopping when they're clearly tired etc.

I don't see the problem in what you're doing, because he commando crawls and pulls to.standing. my DT1 does neither of those. Another reason for me to not walk with him....

And my phone managed to post this thread twice, doh!
