My nearly 3yo dd never sucked her thumbs, fingers, or had a dummy or amy comforter. ... until her dt brothers came along 8 montjs ago. She was 2.2 yo. She started sucking her thumbs the week they arrived.

Ever since she has been fiercely fond pf sucking her thumb. Particularly when she is tired or nervous/ anxious, but basically all the time.

I have mostly let her get on with it and not told heroff or aasked her to stop. I hoped she would drop the habit aa quickly as she picked it up but that has not happened at all.

She now sucks her thumb all the time. When we are out walking, when ahe eats her dinner.

Do I carry on ignoring it? do I try ans stop her? or do i take kpee drastic action. .. i have heard of thumb guards? ?

It has become such a prop for her and I am worried about her teeth as well as her tendency to thumb suck at the expense of other things such as using two hands to play and talk without a thumb in her mouth.

Any advice or similar experience?

My dn thumb sucked and they were told by the dentist to swap it for a dummy, the theory being that you can throw the dummy away.

Haven't got any advice really but just wanted to say that some regression is normal with the arrival of siblings and by ignoring it you are doing the right thing Smile
