Try (assuming you're a reader and can put up with the Americanism of it) 'Packaging Girlhood - protecting our daughters from marketers' schemes' for some ideas about challenging the attitudes she might be picking up from media/school/culture in general - mine are still younger but it's already useful.

I have a 7yo who thinks she is 17Hmm Attitude in spades

My Dd2 was like that, she had attitude from about 3!!

She was extremely fussy about what would wear especially shoes.

She was born nocturnal and by 7 I was dreading her being 17.

She is 17 now, she is still very fussy about how she looks but manages on a very small budget, she wears a small amount of make up but nicely done.

She is away at residential 6th form and absolutely loving it.
She is fiesty, funny and lovely [when not fighting with her sister].

I think Guides and scouts kept her grounded and showed her that she could do really cool stuff and still look nice.

I had to work hard with her so thst she didnt become a princess but it has paid off big time.

Keep working with your fiesty girls we need them in the world.

Good luckGrin

Thanks patience SmileThanks

DD started Brownies last year and adores it. I totally agree about feistiness. I don't want them to be meek people-pleasers. It's just a bit wearing living with the "attitude"!
