MMR reaction: Skin Rash

Ds had his MMR jab on 18th December, the doctor warned us that after 5-10 days he might get a temperatura and some little dots on his skin.
He has been quite tired since the jab, but he is also teething and the flu was going round, and even though he was tired he didn't have a temperature.
On day 10 after the jab he did get some little red dots on his torso, but they didnt' look too bad, yesterday, they seemed to have spread a bit to the back of his neck and ears, and today you can also see them on his face (although on his face, ears they are quite light and not noticeable at a distance), but they have gotten a lot worse on his torso.
I just wanted to ask what other's experience of this has been, as the rash looks quite bad and I just want to make sure it is due to the vaccine and not something else.
There is a picture on my profile although the flash didn't help and it's not as visible as with the naked eye.
TIA

my DS got a really bad rash after his MMR. It was literally all over his body especially on his back and was kind of bumpy and looked really sore and he wasn't well. We had trouble getting him in at doctors as the receptionists (who think they know it all!) when we phoned wouldn't let us have an appointment as they said a rash after MMR is a usual reaction. on the 2nd day of him being really bad my mum phoned and insisted an appointment. The doctor was really good, she spent about half an hour exaimining him (allocated appointment time is 5 mins), she said it was alot worse than the usual rash they got but it didn't appear to be anything else but to keep a very close eye on him and if he got any worse to bring him straight back even if it was the same day. She had a student with her at the time so was explaining everything also and she said you must never assume anything. Luckily he didn't get any worse and got steadily better and the rash faded over the next week.

I would take him to docs to be on the safe side if you think its worse than it should be

Thanks Morph. I was going to take him to the doctors but for some reason they are closed today (probably on strike, we are not in the UK), so unless he gets a temperature I will wait until Wednesday, I dont fancy waiting hours in a&e for him to catch something else while he is there...
Was your dd's rash itchy? Ds's seems to be, but he also hs atopic skin, which is probably not helping either.
Thanks again.

We did not have the rush, but was told that it is normal to have it for few days.

Thanks babySophieRose, it's good to know, I was told about the rash but assumed it would appear and then get better, rather than get worse and spread, I guess it's not usual if it can last a few days, it just looks so uncomfortable...

i think his was uncomfotable but not sure if itchy or not. He's 2.6 now so was about year and a half ago now, i remember it was quite a few days after the jab when he first got the rash, prob over a week after and he got a slight rash and it got worse and worse. We took his top off to undress him one night and his back was literlly covered in bumpy spots, i remember thinking how will his skin ever get back to normal and would be be left with scars but thankfully it all healed ok.

Thanks again Morph, sorry I typed about your dd, I meant ds!
I am reassured that his got worse over the days as well. Ds doesn't have a temperature and other than a bit tired and grumpy he seems fine, so I hope he will improve soon...
