Bedwetting

I have a 5 yr old DS who is a chronic bedwetter, practically every night and sometimes during the day. We currently lift him every night around 11pm which (if we have caught him before he has wet the bed) works until morning usually. I'm trying to work on the daytimes (he often has wet pants and says he can't feel the wee before he's desperate) as I know this can help with the night-times. I just wanted to ask advice if anyone has used an alarm as to how effective it was? Or have heard of magnesium supplements and whether these work? So far the only info I have found on this is in relation to bedwetting and those on the autistic spectrum (which DS is not) and magnesium deficiency. My elder DD was also a bedwetter but has now resolved in the last six months! Any advice/tips would be great - we have been consistently trying sticker charts and praise by the way.

Is he a 'bedwetter' or is he not yet dry at night? I would suggest the latter. With my elder daughter being dry at night was like flicking a switch at 3.6. Dd2 is 4.1 and showing no signs of coming out of nappies at night. I am not yet worried...

Unfortunately he was dry until this time last year and then it suddenly started just before Christmas - kind of flicking the switch the other way unfortunately. My DD was still under the enuresis clinic when it began and I asked the consultant's advice and it can happen in this way after having been dry. I have been hoping it will stop for him as suddenly but no sign so far... No traumas or upheavals and he's a very happy confident boy.

My son is 7 and is still in pull ups, we are only now just getting to have about 8 nights out of 10 where he is dry. He still has the odd accident throughout the day too.

We did do the lifting thing for a while but stopped as it didnt seem to be helping.

It just sounds like he isnt quite ready yet. My son was dry during the day before he was 3 but did start wetting again after about year which was frustrating ...he'll do it when he is ready.
