dd current routine (ish):

6.30/7am - wake
10am - nap (50mins)
2.30pm/3pm - nap (50mins/1hr)
7.00pm - in bed usually asleep 7.15pm/7.30pm

She is sleeping through at the moment altho goes through phases of not.

Would you stick to these 2 naps which are shortish (I know not compared to some) or go to 1 maybe longer midday nap?

Just wondered as am first time mum and not sure.

Thanks

Sounds like a good routine. Depends on how she is, if she's getting tired and fed up by half ten without then she prob isn't ready to do one longer one.

This is identical to my DD's routine ( on a good day!). She is 14 months.

My DTs were doing similar at 12 months, around 13 months they started resisting the 10am nap aad pushed it themselves to 11.30 ish. They have one nap now which ranges from 45mins on a bad day to 2 hours on a good day. They are asleep for 7.15pm now and sleep until 8am some days but mostly around 7am. 16 months now.

Sounds good to me, my dd was in the same routine, and gradualy pushed the morning nap to after dinner. She's now 17 months and is awake from 7.30-8 all morning, I usually put her down to sleep after dinner about 12-30 , but this is also getting pushed to later, but I don't want her to go to sleep later as It will put her bedtime out!

If she's sleeping through then do not mess with it!

:(
11months and only 20 mins nap but sleeps through night. Do they hit 1 and start napping?

Thanks. Yes I think you're right about leaving things as they are if she's sleeping through I guess there's not a problem.

It's just I hear that they should have a longer afternoon nap of over an hour but like everyone always says babies are all different. I'm just glad and so thankful that she's sleping through for now.

She's generally happy all day too which makes me think she must be getting the sleep she needs. Happy baby=happy Mummy.
