Not sure if I should be worried or not, my ds is just over 9 months and still isn't able to sit unsupported. He rolls around ok and is getting into a crawling position. We do sit with him a lot on the floor with toys around, im just getting a bit concerned as people have started to comment now.

Maybe speak to the health visitor? Check what the normal spectrum is, but I would be very surprised if this wasn't perfectly fine! Is he trying to pull himself up when you do sit him down?

My DD is the same she doesn't even roll just likes lying there on her back kicking and playing with her toys if we sit her up she wiggles back down! We do see a physio for other reasons and she's helping her sit up but if he's rolling and trying to crawl I wouldn't worry. Maybe Rollings just more fun! If you are worried speak to your hv but one day he will just crack it (I'm still waiting for that day! She's 9 month 1 week)

My DS2 was the same. I was quite worried as DS1 was sitting unaided at 5 months and crawling by 8 months. DS2 could roll accross the room but showed no interest in sitting. He would just throw himself back or slump forwards til he ried to get laid back again. He's FINALLY started to sit unaided for long enough for me to actually be able to leave him sat without fear of him toppling in the last month. He's just turned 11 months now! I wouldn't worry too much.

Thanks, think I will speak to the hv if he isn't sitting by Christmas, tbh I wasn't that worried until my mum and sister commented

When you have a baby it seems people have licence to comment on everything they are doing/not doing. It's particularly rife around the waking milestone. Gross motor can't be that poor if he's rolling about and getting himself into the crawling position so I personally wouldn't be concerned.
