Welcome samandkat! My 2.5yr old didn't crawl til 14months and walked after 18 months, and shes fine! The fact he is walking holding on is a great sign he's not far away from letting go - please don't worry! Also, IMO, don't stress about the cup/beaker thing, I know these things seem little huge developmental issues at the time, but looking back you realise they're not such a big deal - just keep offering it to him and one day he'll be ready (I think my daughter refused at first, and in the end she wanted a proper adult mug!). Each child is SO different and does things at such different rates! I'm sure you're doing a great job! Best of luck!

Hi hun,
I do not believe in pushing, I read lots of books about babies and children, and most of them say that the baby does what he is ready to do at that point of the time. I heard and saw babies who started walking at 10 months and at 24. They all are just fine. Maybe try to stop worrying (I don't know how can I say it as I do myself worry about everything you could think of) and try just to show him those things in play and laughs. When my son does something new I smile and clap to him and after he enjoys doing that we clap :-). also babies enjoy repeating their parents, try to drink from the beaker :-). i know there are lots of programmes, group etc, but I think it will work only if you and your baby enjoy it. Good luck and keep smiling :-)

I gave mine a open cup in the bath, and a straw sometimes. They can play with the cup without you worrying they'll spill it.

My dc all preferred feeding themselves with finger food at that age and older, don't worry. It'll come when he wants something and you're not there.
