Special "second-child" skills?

What special skills does your second child have, that your first child never developped?

My DS2 is an expert at dismantling any sort of lego construction. He finds it, he takes it apart, and he flings all the bits to the floor.

to just do things without having to be nagged or stuffed into or bribed. Thank God. Grin

Second child is 'easier', my third is positively horizontal, however she is only 6 mo.

But i do think that the older babies have the hardest time and any others that follow have life a little easier. Its just that the younger children have exposure to stuff earlier on IYKWIM

opening drawers and cupboards that have been child proofed....in fact he showed dd how to do it!

To be generaly mor charming and easy going. He is a more 'easily winning' child

Oh, yes, opening drawers and cupboards sounds like the thing.

My second child is much easier than my first, too. Well, he's quite cheeky and random, but he is at least used to amusing himself much more than DS1.

I think that 2nd babies often seem very smily - it's like they're pathetically grateful for any little bit of attention! LOL

DS2 has been trying to dress himself & put his own shoes on since he was a year old. DS1 (6) would still be very happy for someone else to dress him!

NotQuiteCockney · 25/03/2006 16:57

Oh yes - DS1, at 4, still quite likes to be fed. DS2 won't allow it, at 18 months. Wouldn't allow it ever, actually. And he's working on dressing himself, and objects rather strenuously to anyone else dressing him.

Nobody else has a lego-destroyer like mine? I'm sure DS1 would love to trade DS2 for someone else's baby that didn't destroy all lego.

Oh, my DS2 destroys EVERYTHING! DS1 is often heard wailing that DS2 has ruined his model or picture.
DS1 had a magnetic calender which was constantly being destroyed & no longer has any numbers, due to DS2 pulling them all off.
He had a reward chart in his room with little stickers & DS2 constantly pulled them off too.
I bought DS2 a wooden train track for his 3rd birthday on Tuesday & he just loves getting you to put it all together for him so that he can run the odd train across & then pull it all to pieces!!
