Thought it would be nice to share the progress our not so little anymore babies have made and also any little worries we might have. We're plodding along nicely at the moment but it would be nice to hear what other Jan/Feb mums and babies are doing.

My DD was born 31/1/12 and is the LAST of 3 definately
At the moment she's teething, has 2 bottom teeth through and is almost talking (we've kind of got mum, dad, and more). She's a bit lazy at sitting up and doesn't like laying on her tummy so I doubt we'l be crawling anytime soon
My main worries at the moment are about me going back to work after Xmas, finding a childminder and getting her off her midday (BF) feeds it' heart wrenching

mumnos, the main thing was to leave him on the floor as much as possible. At least 3 20 minutes sessions on his tummy a day, and plenty on his back as well, no matter how much he pukes or cries. Play with tall toys when he's on his tummy or sitting, so his attention is drawn up away from the floor - when he's on his tummy, that encourages him to lift himself off the floor, heading towards crawling; when he's sitting, it encourages him to sit upright and really flex his back muscles, which strengthens them.

It's been very hard to force him to do this stuff; he hated tummy time till very recently so shouted and vomited a lot. But it really is worth it, he's much, much better lately and is sitting up really securely and moving himself round the floor a bit. To be honest, he's miles ahead now of his sister at this age, and she's a perfectly normal 2 year old now.

I hope that makes sense, I'm so tired tonight I can barely string a sentence together.

mum the poo does change depending on what they eat some things (like peppers) don't seem to be easily digested and appear practically whole plus they smell different! However my dt2 has suffered constipation since birth are her poos really small (pebble like) infrequent and solid/smelly? If so i find dt2 loves veggies I give him some mixed veg or corgettes and it clears him out lovely! (be prepared for it!) Oh yes poos are the joys of motherhood aren't they?!?

Things were getting bunged up for dd as she eats a lot of blueberries. I guess there was too much fibre. I added some plum juice to her porridge and that helped.

She's insisting on feeding herself now. A real mess but great in that I can get a few bites of my own dinner before it goes cold.

It's funny how opinionated she's becoming. She had a meltdown yesterday when I ran out of blueberries. I very sympathically laughed!

I've got a carb-aholic here. She eats most things but loves pasta, bread, potato, bread, rice. No woder she's a bit bunged up. I think she's had enough of plums as we went a bit mad when our plum tree fruited for the first time ever. Now that did get messy at nappy time!
