dd1 is 5 and is very slow at everything she does and has no initiative/common sense.
she sits at the table at mealtimes but stares around, messes with things, twirls her hair and has to be nagged and nagged to eat.
in the morning her uniform is laid out but she sits on her bed in her pjs and gets a book out and has to be told to get a wash, get dressed.
as we leave she has to be told to put on her shoes and coat and get out the door.

i have tried waiting to see what she does, she just sits down and plays and forgets what she should be doing.
this morning she had 1 shoe on then played with a doll instead of putting her otehr shoe on.
i have tried a reward chart for getting washed/dressed etc, she can do it all but never gets on with it.

school havent mentioned a problem, she listens in class and does her work fine.
is there a way to speed her up?

I have the younger version of this; I await replies with interest (or maybe I will wander off and start looking for snails...or put my dollies to bed...)

this morning i let her have a lie in till 7.30 and then she had an hour to get out and she seemed a bit quicker, normally she gets up at 6 with dd2 and has too much time on her hands to get into games and is probably sleepy too.

i think she needs more sleep and school is wearing her out.
