Hi Can any help I've a 4month daughter I've just managed to get her in her own crib as I had her in bed with me against all advice.I was wondering has any one got any tips on how to get her to self sooth.I spend hours rocking her, sometimes I rock for an hour then go to put her down and she wakes up.people say leave her to cry but wanted to see if there was other methods out there. It would be abig help I might get some sleep x:-)

I'm by no means an expert with just the 1 DC - nearly 4 month old DD, but I've noticed she's a very "sucky" baby and she now sucks her thumb for comfort/sleep.
Do you swaddle? If so swaddle with hand free or a dummy?

Just an idea based on what worked for me but realise might not be the same for you.

Good luck though whatever you find that works!

DS did learn to self soothe, but it DID involve a wee bit of crying. I think the key is that when you know your DC needs/wants to sleep, put her in bed and wait a little. DS normally cries for less than 5 mins. A music box or VTech thing with lights and music you can attach to the cot works wonders too.

Hi not managed to self sooth yet.going to try good timing and waiting till she's really tired see if she falls to sleep on her own.I feel soooo guilty leaving her to cry.I put her to bed in a sleeping bag as she hated swaddling.Thankyou for some idea of were to start.:-)

DD2 had her 'taggy' blanket - from Amazon. Great comforter.

We had a ewan dream sheep that played womb noises and other white noises, my dd loved it at that age and it helped her settle.
