15 months old and biting!

Am writing on behalf of my friend, another Mum, who's 15-month DD bites her. In ever other way the little girl is typical of her age. Mum has tried shouting at her to stop, physically removing DS's jaws from her legs, turning her back on her.... The two of them have a fabulous relationship in every other way. DS doesn't bite anyone else, not even Dad! Any thoughts on how to stop my friend getting more bruises???

Apols, I do mean DD, not DS! I've got a son, she's got a daughter. I can tell the difference... Grin

Tell her to withdraw her attention from her dd after a firm "no". But no shouting. Her dd doesn't know that it's bad so she has to be taught.

ds went thru a biting stage, i was very cautious when he got too close to me. is her daughter teething or biting for attention?

if its for attention, maybe giving the little girl some attention when she is playing quietly would help? or maybe she is pushing the boundaries with her mom (and doesn't with dad?)

when ds would bite, it would be a firm NO. and if needed i would hold him firmly by the shoulders until any crying or screaming stopped.
